Frank James Guidone, 98

He was a veteran of WWII Army Air Force and served in the Pacific Theater with the 52nd Bombardment Squadron, received the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon and American Theater Campaign Ribbon.

Frank James Guidone, 98, of Hamden, husband of the late Julia Zampiello Guidone, passed away on Dec. 25, 2012.

He was born in New Haven April 12, 1914, son of the late Luigi and Rosaria Carangelo Guidone. Prior to his retirement in 1980, he was employed as a clerk for the US Post Office in New Haven and was a member of the National Association of Federal Employees #257.

He was a veteran of WWII Army Air Force and served in the Pacific Theater with the 52nd Bombardment Squadron. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon and American Theater Campaign Ribbon.

He leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Maria Guidone of Cheshire, and a daughter, Evelyn Rauccio of North Haven; six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, a sister Grace Jones of Dallas, TX and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brothers Carmine, Pasquale and Joseph Guidone and a sister Laura Giannotti.

Relatives and friends may call Friday morning from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Iovanne Funeral Home, 11 Wooster Pl., New Haven, and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Stephen's Church, Hamden at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
