Freddy A. Oviedo, 69, of Hamden, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Born in Costa Rica on Sept. 15, 1943, he was the son of Maria Oviedo-Sanchez. Freddy was a dry cleaner at Rainbow Cleaners for over 32 years.
He was the father of Melissa (Larry) Pomeroy of Hamden and Tereasa Ovieda and her fiancee Matt Kirschner of Meriden. He also was the brother of Flor Avina, Carlos Oviedo, Alvaro Oviedo, Maritza Oviedo-Sanchez and Rosa Banuelas. He also is survived by his former wife and friend, Susan Oviedo of Wallingford.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Sunday at 6 p.m. Family and friends may call from 3 p.m. until time of service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
