Grace Mildred Ellefsen, 87

Grace served for 44 years as a Superior Court Clerk in New Haven, having retired in 1992.

Grace Mildred Ellefsen, 87, lifelong resident of Hamden, passed away on Jan. 5, 2013 at her home.

She was born in Stratford on March 3, 1925 to the late Arnold and Henrietta Hart Ellefsen. Grace grew up in Hamden and graduated from Hamden High School in 1943 before graduating from Larson Junior College. She served for 44 years as a Superior Court Clerk in New Haven, having retired in 1992.

She was a choir member of Spring Glen United Church of Christ, where she worshipped for many years.

Grace is survived by her niece, Susan Atkinson of Branford; four nephews, Jeffrey Ellefsen of East Greenbush, NY, Richard Ellefsen of Plymouth, Karl Ellefsen of Denver, CO, and Bruce Ellefsen of Berlin. She was predeceased by her brothers Norman and Marvin Ellefsen.

Her family would like to thank Grace's caretakers for their faithful and considerate attention to her needs.

Her Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 9th at 11 a.m. at Beecher & Bennett, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday morning before the funeral from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
