Hamden Obituaries: Anna F. Fraulo

Anna F. Fraulo, 86, of Washington St., Hamden, died on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013 at the St. Raphael Campus of YNHH.

Although living in Hamden, she was a long time resident of East Haven. She was born in New Haven on August 23, 1927 to the late Joseph and Trofimena D'Urso Fraulo.

Anna worked for the City of New Haven, Board of Education for 35 years as a Science Teacher and then Department Head until her retirement. She received awards for her written work in Science and as a teacher- administrator.

After retirement she became certified as a Travel Agent and spent much time traveling all around the world. Anna also generously donated her time to several worthwhile causes, such as Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic, the Hospital of St. Raphael, Shubert Theatre and the Peabody Museum.

She is survived by two cousins; Carmen (Anne) Fraulo of New Haven and Annette Fraulo of Branford, who was more like a sister to Anna. She was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Fraulo.

Funeral will leave the EAST HAVEN MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 425 Main St., Friday morning at 10:30 for a Funeral Service at St. Vincent dePaul Church at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Friends may call prior to the mass from 9 to 10:30.
