Hamden Obituaries: Anna Marie Galasso, 83

Despite being blind and deaf, Anna lived a full and independent life thanks to her caring family and kind friends.



Anna Marie Galasso, 83, formerly of Hamden, died peacefully on Jan. 6, 2014 in The Connecticut Hospice, Branford.

Born in New Haven Dec. 6, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise Cecco Galasso. She graduated from Oak Hill School for the Blind in Hartford and worked for several years at Applied Engineering Products in New Haven.

Despite being blind and deaf, Anna lived a full and independent life thanks to her caring family and kind friends.

She is survived by her brother, Louis Galasso of New Haven; her sister, Rose (Ralph) Ricciardelli of Wallingford and many loving nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Jennie Talarczyk and Lucy DiNatale and three brothers, Nicolas, Joseph and Frank Galasso.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Stephen’s Church, 400 Ridge Road, Hamden Saturday morning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
