Hamden Obituaries: Dominick F. DeMusis, 94

Dominick F. DeMusis, 94, of Hamden, formerly of New Haven, died peacefully on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013 at the Hamden Health Care Center, Hamden.

He was the beloved husband of 35 years to Serafina Pepe DeMusis.

Dominick was born in New Haven on Sept. 4, 1919, a son of the late Vincent and Theresa Sabia DeMusis, and had resided in New Haven for most of his life before moving to Hamden 35 years ago. He was a meat cutter for most of his life, working at the former Sal Maccarelli Market of Hamden for 30 years. He then worked at Point Beach Market in Milford for several years before moving on to Foremost Foods of West Haven where he worked for an additional 10 years until his retirement.

Dominick was a proud World War II Army veteran and served in the European, African and Middle Eastern theatres.

He is also surivived by two daughters, Ann (John) Andrus of Branford, Janet (John) Cacopardo of Guilford, one son, Richard (AnnMarie) DeMusis of Naples, FL, formerly of Northford, one sister, Catherine Benedict of Colony, NY, seven grandchildren, Deanna O'Brien, Jason (Danielle) Andrus, Richard and David DeMusis, John (Tina) Cacopardo, Matthew (Heidi) Cacopardo, and Melissa (David) Volta, and nine great-grandchildren, Anna, Grace and Michael O'Brien, Jarrett, Adrianna and Matteo Cacopardo, Ryan and Braden Andrus, and Sophia Volta.

He was predeceased by his beloved first wife of 25 years, Anna Esposito DeMusis, one sister, Elizabeth Grabowski, and three brothers, Vincent, Anthony and Michael DeMusis.
