He was the President of E.C.L. Contractors for 40 years.
Ernest C. “Hutch” Leonardo, Sr., 89, of Hamden, passed away at his home on Jan. 12, 2014.
He was the husband of the late Mary (Kobylniak) Leonardo and the loving father of William Leonardo of Hamden and Ernest C. Leonardo, Jr. and his wife Maureen of Hamden. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren William Leonardo, Jr. and Ernest Leonardo and a great grandson William Leonardo, III, and secretary and friend Rachel DiBiase.
He was predeceased by brothers Peter, Albert, Jack, Louis and Richard Leonardo and sisters Gloria Hackley and Margaret Barraco.
Mr. Leonardo was born in Hamden on Oct. 16, 1924, the son of the late Alphonso and Beatrice (Palmieri) Leonardo. He was the President of E.C.L. Contractors for 40 years.
His funeral will leave from Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Thursday at 9:30 a.m., for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m.
