Evangeline (Angie) Besbessides Arnaoutis, 82, of Hamden, passed away Dec. 23, 2013 in The Connecticut Hospice, Branford after a lengthy illness.
Born in New Haven on Sept. 13, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Florence Besbessides.
She is survived by her son, George (Kelly) Arnaoutis of North Haven; her daughter, Maria Susan (Anthony) Mase of Hamden; two sisters, Mary Mattie of Hamden and Catherine Marathas of Orange; five grandchildren, Haley, Nicole & Andrew Arnaoutis, Aubrie & Krystina Velleca; her nephew, Alex Marathas; and her former husband Apostolos (Paul) Arnaoutis of Cromwell.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Florence M. Arnaoutis, her brother, G. Jordan Besbessides and two brothers in law, John Mattie and Constantine J. (Gus) Marathas.
Friends may call at The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (corner of Dwight), New Haven, Friday from 4 to 8 pm. and are invited to attend funeral services in St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Road, Orange Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
