Hamden Obituaries: John P. Ambrogio Jr, 47

The former Hamden resident and son of former Hamden Police Chief John Ambrogio passed away recently in Florida.

 

John Perri Ambrogio Jr., devoted husband of Sandra Baldo Ambrogio, entered into eternal rest on Feb. 2, 2013 in Cape Coral Florida after a sudden illness.

John was born on May 7, 1965 in New Haven, CT the son of former Hamden Police Chief John and Maureen Ambrogio. He was raised in Hamden, attending St Rita and Hamden High schools.

John graduated from the New Haven Police Academy and received an Associates degree from the Heritage Institute, FL. John served on the Southern Connecticut University police department and the Lee County Sheriff's department. At the time of his death John was employed by Select Merchandising Services and the Newsgroup.

In addition to his wife and parents John is survived by his daughter Veronica and her husband Anthony Romee, and his granddaughter Kisa Elizabeth Emma.

Also mourning John's loss are his four sisters Gayle (Sean) Horan, Jacquelyn (Edouard) Bouvier, Pamela (Robert) Doolan and Valerie (Eric) Kammerer; and his inlaws John and June Baldo and John Baldo Jr. John will be missed by his two nephews, four nieces, and many loving relatives and friends.

John had strong political opinions and was vocal in expressing them. His sense of humor, and quick wit made him a lively companion. He will be in our hearts forever.

His funeral was held this week at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Hamden. Burial will be private.
