Maurice Phillip Talbot, 86, of Hamden, husband of the late Arlene James Talbot, beloved father and “Peepop” grandfather, died Wednesday, Oct.30, 2013 at Whitney Manor in Hamden.
Maurice was born in Fall River, MA, on Aug. 23, 1927, a son of the late Phillip and Yvonne Robage Talbot. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy, during both WW II and the Korean Conflict.
Maurice was employed with the Grounds Maintenance Department of Yale University for over 30 years.
He is survived by daughters, Jeanine (Joseph) Arpino, of North Branford, and Linda Talbot; a stepdaughter, Leah (John) Balboni, of East Haven; a sister, Ilene Barone, of Wilbraham, MA; six grandchildren, Hunter James Horrock, Joseph Carmen Arpino, III, John Balboni, Jr., Michelle Balboni, Melissa Rivera, and Willie Torres. He was predeceased by four brothers, Richard, Gerard, Roland, and Norbert Talbot; a stepdaughter, Kathleen Rivera, and a step-son, Wesley Forbes.
The funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Road, (Rte. 22 So. at Rte. 80), North Branford. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. Family and friends may call prior to the funeral from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
