Melvin E. Long, 69, of Shepards Knoll Dr., Hamden, entered eternal rest on Jan. 17, 2014.
He was born to the late George and Thelma (Roberts) Long on June 13, 1944 in New Haven, CT. Mr. Long was a fan of New York Knicks and enjoyed photography and listening to Jazz.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 51 years, Edwina; son, Melvin E. Jr.; daughters, Tracey Long, Rosalind Long, Shylia Jenkins; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by brothers, George and Vernon Long and sister, Sharon Rogers.
