Hamden Obituaries: Patricia (Lyons) Leahy, 75

She was an accomplished seamstress, an avid reader and a fabulous cook.

Patricia (Lyons) Leahy 75, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2013 surrounded by family. 

She was the beloved wife of Peter Leahy, loving mother of Kevin C. Leahy (Laurie) of Glastonbury, Lisa L. Wiemert (Keith) of Bristol and Laura L. Molnar (David) of Cheshire, sister of Elizabeth Weber of Portland, ME, and Mary K. Lyons of Santa Rosa, CA. Also survived by her cherished grandchildren Kara, Katy and Kristin Wiemert, Nicholas and Delaney Molnar and Molly, Connor, Ryan, John and Paul Leahy. 

She was predeceased by a brother William P. Lyons, Jr. and sisters Lucille Cardenas and Joan Macauley. 

Patricia was born in New Haven June 5, 1938, daughter of the late William P. and Elizabeth Killeen Lyons. She graduated from Hamden High School in 1956 and attended New Haven State Teachers College. Prior to her retirement she worked for the Union Trust Company for 20 years. 

Mrs. Leahy was a parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Church for over 40 years and a member of the Lady Falcons Golf League of Southington. She was an accomplished seamstress, an avid reader and a fabulous cook. She was instrumental in establishing a cherished family tradition of Christmastime in Vermont since 1986 and a week in Lake Winnipesaukee in the summer since 1999. 

Funeral from Sisk Brothers Funeral Home 3105 Whitney Ave. Hamden, on Monday at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church. Burial in All Saints Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m.
