Selma Jacobs Hershman, 103, a lifelong resident of Hamden and the wife of the late Lester Hershman, died peacefully on Sept. 19, 2013 at Emeritus in Woodbridge.
A graduate of Hillhouse High School and Emerson College in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Jacobs and Rachel (Pinckus) Jacobs.
She is survived by her sons, Peter (Janet) Hershman of Branford (formerly of Woodbridge) and Joel Hershman of Auburn, Maine, six grandchildren: Elisabeth, Jay, Aaron, Joshua, Seth, and Amanda, and six great grandchildren.
Funeral service and interment are private. The Weller Funeral Home, 493 Whitney Ave., New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
A period of mourning will be held at the home of Peter and Janet Hershman, Sunday, Sept. 22 from 3:00 to 8 p.m. at 121 Limewood Ave, Branford.
