Hamden Obituaries: Tia Lynne Shelton, 51
She was a member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church and was also a member of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Club.
Tia Lynne Shelton, 51, of Hamden, departed this life Dec. 23, 2013.
Born in New Haven on April 3, 1962, she was the daughter of Bernice Shelton and the late William H. Shelton, Sr.
Ms. Shelton was employed for numerous years at AT&T as a Customer Service Representative. She was a member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church and was also a member of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Club.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by brothers, William H. Shelton, Jr. (Joyce) of North Carolina and James D. Hill of California; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Ms. Shelton’s life will be held Monday, Dec. 30 at 11 a.m. at New Bethlehem Baptist Church, 70 Orchard St., New Haven. Viewing will be held at the church from 10 - 11 a.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
