Jane Frances Martin, 86, of Hamden, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, with her family by her side after an extended illness. She was the wife of 61 years to her loving husband Frank C. Martin, Sr.
Born Sept. 25, 1926 in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late William and Nora Toomey Meegan. Jane lived in New Haven most of her life and worked at the New Haven Department of Parks and Recreation until her retirement.
She was the beloved mother of Frank C. Martin, Jr. and his wife Barbara N. Martin, the sister of Inez Meegan Shea and her husband Philip, sister-in-law of Ann Martin Bourbon.
She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Elizabeth F. Martin and a sister Lorraine Pagliuca.
The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Vitas Hospice for the excellent care they provided for Jane.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Monday morning at 10:30. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Stephen's Church at 11 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
