Joseph Anthony Rich, Sr., 77, of Hamden, passed away quietly at his home on Dec. 18, 2012.
He was the husband of Rose Marie Batick Rich and was born in Bridgeport on Nov. 5, 1935, a son of the late Joseph A. and Mary Cannizzio Rich.
Besides his wife of 54 years, he is also survived by his children, Deborah Riccio of FL, David Rich of GA and Michael (Jennifer) Rich of Milford, as well as 11 beautiful grandchildren and a loving sister, Arlene Bruneau of Shelton. He was predeceased by his daughter, Sharon Rich and son Joseph Rich, Jr.
Joseph worked for many years at Sears Roebuck and Kaufman Carpets. He loved to play cards, golf and rooted for his Yankees and Giants whenever they played.
Visitation will be Friday morning from 9:30-11 a.m. at the West Haven Funeral Home, 662 Savin Ave., West Haven, with funeral services at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
