Josephine T. Picone, 78

The wake for the Hamden resident is today; her funeral is Saturday.

Josephine T. Catapano Laudano Picone, age 78, of Hamden, passed away at St. Raphael Hospital on Oct. 3, 2012, after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family.

Born in New Haven on April 19, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Joseph & Theresa DePino Catapano. Josephine was predeceased by her husbands, Salvatore J. Laudano, Sr. & Anthony J. Picone.

She is survived by her children, Salvatore Laudano, Jr. of Hamden, Frank (Cheryl) Laudano and Joanne (Don) Dunlop, all of North Haven; grandchildren Stephanie, Sara & Carissa Laudano and Rick & Nicole Dunlop; great granddaughter Braelyn Heusser; sisters Madaline Casale, Virginia Amarone & Viola Piscatelli; brother Andrew (Virginia) Catapano and sister in-law Marguerite (Edward) Laudano.

She was predeceased by her brother Tony Catapano & her sister Ann Davis.

Josephine's main focus was always spending quality time with her children, grandchildren and great granddaughter. She was a joy to have around and will be greatly missed by many.

Funeral from Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at 10:15 a.m. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Hamden. Interment will follow in East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven. Friends may also visit with her family at the funeral home Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
