Owned Country Club Barber Shop in Hamden for many years.

Michael "Mike the Barber" D'Eugenio, 96 of Hamden died Sunday, Sept. 16.

He was the husband of the late Emily Altieri D'Eugenio and the father of David D'Eugenio and his wife Deborah of Hamden and the late Richard D'Eugenio and Michael D'Eugenio, Jr. He also is survived by a daughter-in-law, Mary Jayne D'Eugenio of Cheshire, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

Born Feb. 14, 1916 in New Haven a son of the late Rocco and Giovannina Milo D'Eugenio, he was a graduate of Eli Whitney Technical School and had been employed as a barber for more than 60 years and was the owner of Country Club Barber Shop in Hamden for many of those years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Hamden. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
