Nancy Tierney Perona, 55, of Hamden, entered into rest Jan. 3, 2013.
She was the beloved wife of James Perona and the cherished daughter of Alice Cirioni Tierney of West Haven and the late Jack Tierney. She also leaves her sister Diane Tierney and her brother Jack Tierney both of West Haven.
Nancy received her Bachelors and her Masters in Special Education from Southern Connecticut State University. Nancy has been a special education teacher with the West Haven Board of Education for 33 years, working at Thompson, Stiles and most recently Pagels School.
The hours for visitation will take place today (Monday) from 4 to 8 p.m. at the West Haven Funeral Home at the green. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Victory Church at 9 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
