CT Job Record

As it turns out, the new year blew in with bad news for Connecticut citizens - 9,700 private sector jobs disappeared in the month of January. Over the last 23 years – almost a quarter century -- job growth in the state has been anemic,  totaling only about 34,000. Yet state employees enjoy some of the best compensation and benefits in the nation. With new yawning deficits projected by Governor Malloy’s own administration, it is time to reopen the SEBAC agreement with state employees and demand real sacrifice. The February jobs report is due at the end of this week. Let’s hope is contains better news.
