NBFA Girls on the Run complete marathon

The staff and faculty at New Beginnings Family Academy would like to congratulate seven of our Girls on the Run participants. On June 21st these girls completed the 5k race they spent 12 weeks training for.

"It is important that our students have goals to work towards, as it keeps them motivated physically and teaches them responsibility. We're proud of our girls for staying motivated and completing the race” said Physical Education teacher Cameron Bowcock. The running event, part of Fairfield Road Races sponsored by Stratton-Faxon, was a chance for the girls to show the community everything that they learned.

The event was a huge success and New Beginnings would like to thank the Girls on the Run program, the New Canaan YMCA and everyone else who made sure our girls were ready to showcase their skills.
