NBFA Students Celebrate While Pete Rose Coaches

(BRIDGEPORT – 6/10/2014) New Beginnings Family Academy, a K-8 charter school, celebrated successful on-time grade promotion at the Bridgeport Bluefish game on Monday June 16 at 7pm. The Bluefish won the game 2-0 versus the Lancaster Barnstormers.

New Beginnings Family Academy’s 8th grade valedictorian, M’ikiahya Black, threw out the first pitch. A group of students and parents from all grades sang God Bless America.

“We are proud of the effort our students put into their education this year” said Ronelle P. Swagerty, Chief Executive Officer of NBFA. “In partnership with our students’ families, we have created a special place for learning where the academic rigor has led to a focus on grade promotion, high school graduation and college attendance.”

New Beginnings Family Academy is excited to have joined Pete Rose on Monday. Mr. Rose returned to baseball for one night only to coach the Bridgeport Bluefish at this game. The New Beginnings student body, their families, teachers and staff joined Mr. Rose in cheering on the home team.
