Quinnipiac University's medical students tour MidState Medical Center
Nearly 40 medical students from Quinnipiac University’s Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine visited MidState last Thursday, Jan. 16. Dr. Aziz Benbrahim, MidState surgeon and interim clerkship liaison, and Dr. Thomas Murray, associate professor at the Netter School of Medicine, opened the program and delivered welcome remarks. Following the remarks, groups of students toured the hospital, visiting the inpatient units, Family Birthing Center, operating room area, Emergency Department, and Center for Clinical Simulation. They later returned to the hospital’s Horwitz Conference Center to view live streaming video from the operation room, which showcased the daVinci robot and new hybrid operating room. “This was a wonderful opportunity for the students,” said Dr. Thomas Murray. MidState will serve as a clinical rotation site for the new medical school. The first class of students began last fall.
