Reader's Choice: Dunn's Pub is the Best Place to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day

It turns out that many Hamden residents are passionate about where they celebrate their Irish heritage (real or imagined).

In the end, Dunn's Pub  won the Hamden Patch Reader's Choice as the best place to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, but it wasn't easy -- at points Thursday night, DeMil's was in the lead, barely eaking out Dunn's.

But when the poll closed 9 a.m. Friday morning, it was Dunn's that was on top, beating out DeMil's by nine votes. A total of 202 votes were cast, with Dunn's getting 88, DeMii's getting 79 and the next runner up, the Playwright Irish Pub and Restaurant garnering 27.

But ultimately, you won't go wrong at any of the Hamden drinking establishments that are sure to be hopping Saturday night in honor of the patron said of Ireland's day.

With St. Patrick's Day falling on a Saturday this year, Hamden restaurants and bars are expected to be full of fun-loving celebrants.
