Town Clerk: More Successful Valentines Weddings

Town Clerk Vera Morrison thanks all who helped make the town's traditional free weddings on Valentines Day a success.

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Town of Hamden, we want to congratulate the four couples that exchanged their vows in the heart of our Government Center for our 17th Annual Valentine’s Day ceremonies.  Congratulations go to Linda Thompson & Angel Canales, Kandace & Kene, Debra Amato & Dion Bodrin and Camelia Moisescu & Brian Smith.

The following Hamden Justices of the Peace and officiators donated their time and beautiful nuptial services: Paula Roll, Tanisha Batiste, Mayor Scott Jackson and Raeanna Curtis.

Many Hamden businesses were most generous with donations towards this 17th annual Hamden event. Cakeworks Etc. on Whitney Avenue provided individual heart-shaped cakes for the couples; Hamden Florist on Whitney Avenue provided the beautiful rose bridal bouquets and boutonnieres; Mt. Carmel Wine & Spirit Shoppe on Whitney Avenue provided wine for the brides & grooms; candy hearts were provided by Walgreen’s on upper Whitney Avenue.

We also want to acknowledge Lucien’s Greenhouse in Centerville, the white heart-shaped arbor donated from Hamden Rental of Dixwell Avenue, and the Hamden Housing Authority who provided a delicious tray of chocolate chip cookies.

We wish long life, lasting love and good luck to all couples that participated in this special 17th anniversary Valentine celebration.  Thank you for allowing me to play Cupid for the Town of Hamden yet again.

Vera Morrison

You've got to be kidding me. Do retirees need the gov to do this? What happened to personalRead More RESPONSIBILITY? Let the individual plan for their own retirement. Get the gov OUT of our lives. Yes, trust the state legislators, as we trusted the Social Security was supposed to be held In escrow, what happened? THEY STOLE THE MONEY AND USED IT FOR THEIR THINGS THEY THOUGHT WAS MORE BENEIFICIAL. So, let me get this straight- they take money out of the economy from us only to put it back into the economy because they know better how it should be used. Sure, that makes sense. They know better than YOU.
