ACES Student Charged with Assaulting Teacher

The girl allegedly punched the teacher before another teacher broke it up, according to police.

A 14-year-old Hamden girl was arrested Monday after she attacked her teacher at ACES, where she attends school, according to police.

Hamden Police received a report of an assault at the alternative education center at 205 Skiff St. at about 11:15 a.m., according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.

"Investigation revealed that a 14 year-old female student pushed an adult staff member and then ran into a teacher’s homeroom class," Smith said. "The 14 year-old then proceeded to physically assault the 55 year-old teacher numerous times with a closed fist. Another staff member eventually removed the student from the classroom."

The 14 year-old Hamden resident was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of Peace, Smith said, and is scheduled to appear in court on March 23.

It's the second time in a month a teenage girl has been arrested for attacking a teacher. A student at the Children's Center was charged last month.

while receiving Staples Rewards does help defray the cost of supplies for the teachers, they areRead More STILL putting cash out of their own pockets! This should not be. But Kudos to the teachers who put their students above their own financial situation. The Town and parents should be footing the costs, not the teachers.
