At about 11:45 a.m. Thursday morning, police received a report of a burglary in progress at an Oberlin Road home, according to Hamden Police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.
When officers got there, neighbors told them that there was someone inside the home, Smith said.
"Moments later, Officer Kevin Hall arrested Mark Carroll, who was
asked by police to exit the residence via the front door," Smith said. "Carroll was in the
possession of burglar tools."
Carroll forced his way in to the home through a bedroom window, Smith said.
Carroll, 51, of 4 Morley Lane, Darien, was charged with third-degree burglary, possession of burglar tools and second-degree criminal trespass.
He was held in lieu of $5,000.00 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Oct. 10.
