Cops: Hamden Man Slashes Daughter

A Hamden man was arraigned today on charges he slashed his daughter in the forehead after an argument Monday evening.

A Hamden man is facing charges after he allegedly cut his adult daughter with a knife during an argument Monday, according to police.

At about 7 p.m. Monday, police got a report of a family dispute at 85 Burke Street, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.

When officers arrived, they found that Lomax Lawrence Jr. was arguing with his 38-year-old daughter, Smith said, and that he cut her across the forehead with a knife.

Hamden Fire Rescue treated the five-inch laceration wound the daughter sustained, Smith said, before she was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Lawrence was charged with second-degree assault. He was released after posting  $5,000 bond and was arraigned in Meriden Superior Court Tuesday.

Officer Bryan Kelly conducted the investigation, Smith said.
