Drug Investigation Leads to Arrests

Hamden Police Department's Street Interdiction Team make motor vehicle stop that leads to drug arrests.

 

Two people were arrested on drug charges when the Hamden Police Department's Street Interdiction Team pulled over their car in the area of Dixwell Avenue and Arch Street last Friday, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.

The team was conducting a drug investigation when they pulled the car over, Smith said, and both the driver, Randie Gonzalez, 21, of 182 Ferry St., New Haven, and passenger, Engel Delhoyo, 24, of 38 Easton St., Hamden, had cocaine on them

Both were charged with possession of narcotics and released after posting $5,000 bond.

They are both scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Aug. 6.
