Gunman Robs Hamden Dunkin Donuts

A man robbed the Dixwell Avenue Dunkin Donuts Thursday afternoon, according to police, who are now searching for him.

Hamden Police are investigating another robbery of a town business, this one an armed robbery at Dunkin Donuts at 1399 Dixwell Ave.

It happened at about 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith, when a man walked in and demanded money. He showed that he had a black handgun tucked in his waistband, Smith said.

After the clerk gave his an undisclosed about of money, he took off on foot towards Beacon Street, Smith said.

The man is described as a white male in his early 30s with a thin build, Smith said.

Officer Michael Nawrocki and his K-9 partner “Hank” searched the area but didn't find anything, Smith said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Angelo DeLieto of the Hamden Police Department at 203-230-4040.

Police are also investigating a break-in at Pawn Paradise Wednesday where the co-owner of the store was found injured, and last week the Gulf gas station was robbed at gunpoint, but police were able to capture the suspect in that incident shortly after it happened.

while receiving Staples Rewards does help defray the cost of supplies for the teachers, they areRead More STILL putting cash out of their own pockets! This should not be. But Kudos to the teachers who put their students above their own financial situation. The Town and parents should be footing the costs, not the teachers.
