A Hamden man is facing assault charges after he allegedly struck his stepson with a glass last week.
Jerome Binard, 52, of 112 Bradley Ave., was charged last Wednesday with second-degree assault and breach of peace after the argument at about 9:30 p.m., according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.
The argument between Binard and his 26-year-old stepson turned physical, Smith said, when Binard threw the glass at the younger man, hitting him in the head.
"Hamden Fire Rescue and American Medical Response rendered medical aid to the victim," Smith said. "He was taken to Yale-New Hospital by a family member."
Binard posted $500 bond and was arraigned Thursday in Meriden Superior Court.
Officer Jeremy Brewer conducted the investigation, Smith said.
