A Hamden man is facing burglary and larceny charges after he allegedly entered an elderly woman's home and stole her pocketbook off her kitchen table, according to police.
The incident happend on Thursday at about 8 a.m., according to Hamden Police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith, when police received a report of a home invasion at a Hillcrest Avenue home.
After investigating, officers determined that Antonio Lucky, 19, of 72 Church St., Hamden, had entered the home after he had shoveled snow from the driveway and stole the handbag, Smith said.
A short time later, Officers Stephen Baris and Justin Martin saw a man who fit the physical description of the suspect, Smith said, and they were able to recover the pocketbook.
Lucky was charged with second-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny. He was held in lieu of $25,000 bond and is due to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Jan. 10.
