Hamden Man Charged in Business Break-In

He allegedly stole money from a cash box, according to police.

The Little Shop of Howlers at 26 Corporate Ridge Road was burglarized on Friday, and the person responsible is related to the owners of the business, according to police.

Sean McLaughlin, 49, of 16 Ford Street, Hamden, was charged with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny.

McLaughlin broke into the business through a window, according to Hamden Police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.

There was money stolen from the cash box, he said.

McLaughlin was detained on a “remand to custody order,” Smith said. He is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Jan. 31.

Officer Mark Atwater conducted the investigation, Smith said.
