A Hamden man was arrested on drunk driving charges Feb. 1 after he was involved in an accident at the intersection of Whitney Avenue and West Woods Road.
At about 11:50 p.m. Feb 1 Hamden Police responded to the report of an accident at that intersection, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.
There, they found that a car, operated by Christopher Zavodsky, 24, of Hamden, had hit two other cars that were parked parked southbound at the intersection at a red control signal, Smith said. Zavodsky’s vehicle fled southbound on Whitney Avenue, he said.
A short time later, Hamden Police found Zavodsky and his car at the York Hill Campus of Quinnipiac University, Smith said. It wasn't clear if Zavodsky is a student at Quinnipiac.
"While speaking with Zavodsky, officers determined that he was intoxicated," Smith said. "He was subsequently arrested and transported to police headquarters."
Zavodsky was charged with Operating Under the Influence, Evading Responsibility, Failure to Drive in Proper Lane, Following to Close and Failure to Carry an Insurance Card. He was released after posting a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Feb. 15.
