Hamden Man Nabbed for Locker Break-In

He allegedly stole items out of storage lockers at the Jefferson Arms Apartment Complex last month.

A Hamden man was arrested over the weekend for a burglary at the Jefferson Arms Apartment complex last month.

The incident happened on Sept. 30, when police got a report of suspicious activity at the complex on Whitney Avenue, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.

Officers found that someone had entered four storage lockers and taken several items valued at about $200, he said.

Officer William May investigated the incident and developed a suspect, Smith said, and submitted a warrant to the court for David Arzuaga, 21, of 58 Michael Rd., Hamden.

On Sunday, Officer Joseph Liguori saw Arzuaga and arrested him, Smith said. He was charged with four counts of third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal and sixth-degree larceny.

Arzuaga posted $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on October 26th.

Police recommend anytime you spot anything that looks suspicious, that you immediately let them know. In situations like this, the sooner they can get to the scene, the better.

Someone should do a study regarding the increase in crime since the bike path that has allowed immediate travel between the southern part of Hamden thru Hamden into Cheshire. Thank you UN Agenda 21 for removing boundries incorporating resouces and increasing crime in our cities and towns. They, the dems will just hire more public union (property tx increases coming) cops. And the circle continues. Are we all nuts. Time to change your party and vote smart.
