Police are investigating the "sudden death" of a 6-week-old baby who passed away Friday morning.
At about 7:45 a.m., Hamden Fire Department personnel alerted Hamden Police to the situation at a Shepard Street home, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith. Firefighters were treating the infant, Smith said.
By the time police arrived, the baby had already died, Smith said.
Medical Examiner’s Office was notified and responded to the scene. The infant
was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Farmington for
an autopsy," Smith said.
The baby's name has not yet been released pending notification of family members, Smith said. The Hamden Police Department Detective Division is investigating.
