Hamden Man Faces Threatening Charge After Gun Incident

The incident forced evacuation of residents of the Regency Hills Apartments complex.


A Hamden resident is facing charges that he threatened to shoot two neighbors in the apartment complex where he lives, according to Hamden Police.
Around 10:30 p.m. March 6, police responded to the Regency Hills Apartments at 300 Pine Rock Ave., on a threatening complaint. 

Investigation revealed that Alex Turner, who resides in the apartment complex, had displayed a firearm to two residents and had threatened to shoot them. 

Upon arrival, Officer Bryan Kelly confronted Turner, who subsequently ran into the apartment building, according to a police report. Officers immediately evacuated three floors of the apartment complex.

According to police, a few moments later, Sgt. John Sullivan made telephone contact with Turner, who was inside of a third floor residence, and convinced him to surrender. He was arrested and taken to Hamden Police Headquarters. 

Turner, 32, of 302 Pine Rock Ave., was charged with first-degree threatening ibreach of peace and interfering with an officer. Turner, who was held in lieu of $25,000 bond, is scheduled to appear March 19 in state Superior Court in Meriden.
