Hamden's Thrall Arrested in Jewelry Theft Case

Leonard Thrall, 60, was taken into custody while swimming at Sperry Falls in Woodbridge.

A swim on a hot, sweltering day didn't work out well for Hamden's Leonard Thrall, who was arrested Tuesday in connection with a March burglary that led to a fourth-month investigation.

Thrall, 60, was taken into custody by a Regional Water Authority officer while he was swimming at Sperry Falls in Woodbridge, according to a press release.

Thrall was arrested on charges of third-degree burglary and second-degree larceny. He was held in lieu of $75,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Meriden on July 22.

The arrest stems from a March 13 burglary in which the perpetrator made away with a "significant" amount of jewelry, according to the New Haven Register.
