Man Allegedly Breaks into Home to Sleep

The relative of a Tanglewood Drive homeowner was arrested Sunday after he allegedly broke into the house and was found sleeping in one of the beds.

Who's been sleeping in my bed?

That was the question for a Tanglewood Drive resident on Sunday, when her son checked her home and found someone in her bed, according to police.

At about 8:30 a.m., police got a report of a burglary in progress at the residence, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.

The person making the complaint told police that when he was checking his mother's home he found a man sleeping in her bed, Smth said. He immediately left the home and called police, Smith said.

Turns out the man was a relative of the homeowner who had broke a window to get in, Smith said. Officers Robert Dunham and Stephen Baris found David Alter, 18, of 15 Harding Street, Hamden, sleeping in a rear bedroom.

Alter was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief. He was held in lieu of $2,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Sept. 10.

while receiving Staples Rewards does help defray the cost of supplies for the teachers, they areRead More STILL putting cash out of their own pockets! This should not be. But Kudos to the teachers who put their students above their own financial situation. The Town and parents should be footing the costs, not the teachers.
