Marijuana Farm Was Family Operation: Police
It was a family operation, according to police — one in which the mother and father and their two sons were reportedly maintaining a farm of marijuana plants in the backyard of their Milford home.

The farm — complete with 76 plants and associated packaging materials — was discovered after police began investigating a complaint alleging drug activity at the Baxter Lane residence.

The four were all arrested on multiple charges. The mother was also charged with possession of heroin, police told Milford Patch.

The homeowners are reportedly on vacation and the underage son threw a party that got out of control, according to police. “A big fight” eventually broke out, several girls told police as they fled to a nearby park.

The underage teens found inside — several with facial cuts and bruises — were released to the custody of their parents, Stratford Patch reports.

The 54-year-old suspect was taken into custody without incident, police told Stratford Patch.

Suspect Found in Dumpster
An 18-year-old New Haven man who police said attempted to steal electronic merchandise from BJ’s Wholesale Club was found hiding in a dumpster.

The suspect reportedly attempted to leave the North Haven store with a cart full of merchandise. He ditched the cart and ran when approached by store security, police said.

Police located him in the dumpster a few minutes later. A second suspect, in a car, was also taken into custody, North Haven Patch reports.
