New Haven Crack Dealer Sentenced After Investigation Involving Hamden Police

On Wednesday, New Haven's Earl Banks was sentenced to 78 months in jail for dealing crack after he was caught by a joint investigation that involved the Hamden Police Department.

Wednesday, New Haven's Earl Banks was sentenced to 78 months in prison followed by four years of supervised release for distributing crack cocaine throughout New Haven, according to a US Department of Justice press release.

Banks was one of more than 100 individuals caught in Operation Bloodline, a joint law enforcement investigation that involved the Hamden Police Department, among many others, according to the release. The yearlong investigation, which focused on the New Haven drug trade, involved everything from court-authorized wiretaps to undercover officers buying drugs, according to the release.

Banks conspired with others to purchase and redistribute crack cocaine throughout New Haven, according to the release. In January, he plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to posses with intent to distribute and distribute 28 grams or more of crack, according to the release.
