New Haven Man Allegedly Found With Coke, Pot

He was pulled over early Saturday morning after spotted allegedly speeding on Bowen Street.

 

A New Haven man is facing drug charges after he was caught allegedly speeding down Bowen Street early Saturday morning.

At about 2:30 a.m. Saturday Officer Shawn Nutcher saw  a car speeding down Bowen Street, according to Hamden Police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith. Nutcher stopped the car at the intersection of Arch and Fitch streets, Smith said.

When the operator of the vehicle, David Johnson 27, of 207 Division St., New Haven, was searched, officers found 14 bags of cocaine and a bag of marijuana in his possession, Smith said. 

Johnson was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and possession of marijuana.

Johnson was released after posting $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Sept. 21.
