A motor vehicle stop early Thursday morning led to the discovery of 21 bags of narcotics in a New Haven man's car.
At about 1:45 a.m. Thursday morning, Officer Tim Brown saw a car speeding down State Street, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith, and pulled the car over.
While searching the car, Brown found in the glove compartment the 21 bags of narcotics, Smith said, including heroin and cocaine.
Ryan Cortes, 18, of 229 Exchange St., New Haven, was charged with two counts of possession of narcotics and two counts of possession of narcotics with intent to sell. He was held in lieu of $100,000 bond and is due to appear in April 28.
