New Haven Man Charged With Domestic Violence

He allegedly smashed a vase into his girlfriend's face at her Hamden home on July 3, according to police.

A New Haven man is facing charges after he allegedly smashed a vase in teh face of his girlfriend, according to police.

The incident happened on July 3 at about 2 a.m., according to Hamden Police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith, when they received a report of a domestic dispute at 214 Morse St.

When officers arrived, they found a 33-year-old Hamden woman "bleeding profusely from her head," Smiths said. She told police that she had gotten in an argument with her boyfriend, identified as Nathaniel Holder, 36, of 94 Diamond St., New Haven.

During the argument, Holder "grabbed a vase and 'smashed it over her face,'" Smith said the woman told officers. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment, Smith said.

When police were unable to locate Holder that night, Officer Shawn Nutcher submitted an arrest warrant application to the court that was immediately approved, Smith said.

On Saturday Holder turned himself into police and was charged with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct. He was held in lieu of $35,000 bond and arragined Monday in Meriden Superior Court.

while receiving Staples Rewards does help defray the cost of supplies for the teachers, they areRead More STILL putting cash out of their own pockets! This should not be. But Kudos to the teachers who put their students above their own financial situation. The Town and parents should be footing the costs, not the teachers.
