The New Haven Register reports that no one showed any interested in any of the items Monday.

The New Haven Register reports today that no one showed up for an auction of everything left behind in the old Police Department buildings.

The two-day auction began Monday and continues Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday’s auction is set for the annex building at 2914 Dixwell Ave., the one that housed the detective and records divisions, according to the Register's story.

Here's what the legal notice for the auction that ran in the Register said:

AUCTION DATES and TIMES May 21, 2012, 9:00AM 3:00PM, Hamden Police Department, 2900 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden, CT 06518. May 22, 2012, 9:00AM 3:00PM, Hamden Police Annex Building, 2914 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden, CT 06518. RAIN DATES and TIMES May 23, 2012, 9:00AM 3:00PM, Hamden Police Department, 2900 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden, CT 06518. May 24, 2012, 9:00AM 3:00PM, Hamden Police Annex Building, 2914 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden, CT 06518. The Town of Hamden will conduct two (2) separate auctions on two (2) separate days, one auction each at each of the facilities listed above. Both auctions will take place at the same time of day on each of the two (2) days and the same below terms apply to both auction days. AUCTION TERMS All persons participating in the auction are doing so at their own risk. All transactions will be cash only and in the amount of the full purchase price, no change will be made, all purchasers must pay exact amounts in cash only. No deposits are permitted, no monies will be refunded, no exceptions. All participants must sign-in at the auctioneer['']s table between the hours of 9:00AM and 10:00AM. Proper identification in the form of a valid State of Connecticut Driver['']s License is required so that the auctioneer can correctly identify the bidder and the items purchased by that bidder when the bidder removes their item(s). The bidders must be present at the time of item removal and must verify their identification by again producing the same State of Connecticut valid driver['']s license, as they are the only one['']s that will be permitted to remove their items. All participants will receive a bidder['']s number so the auctioneer can identify the bidder by that number. Participants may then, only after signing in, tour the facility between the hours of 9:00AM and 10:00AM to view the furniture and items to be auctioned off. The individual items will be tagged with an "item #", it is the responsibility of the participants to remember or write this item # down so they know when that item comes up for auction, as the items will be auctioned off by item # only. At precisely 10:00AM the auction will begin, all participants must be out of the facility at this time. Bidders will be permitted to remove their purchased items immediately after the auction is completed and only after all items to be offered for bid have been offered. There are absolutely no exceptions. The successful bidders must retrieve all items and remove these items from the premises no later than 3:00PM the same day as the auction; there are absolutely no exceptions. Bidders are solely responsible for the removal of their purchased items. All furniture and items will be sold in as-is condition. The Town of Hamden makes no representations as to the condition of any of the items to be auctioned off. Should any of the items break while being removed from the premises by the successful bidder there will be no monies refunded. 2493869

You've got to be kidding me. Do retirees need the gov to do this? What happened to personalRead More RESPONSIBILITY? Let the individual plan for their own retirement. Get the gov OUT of our lives. Yes, trust the state legislators, as we trusted the Social Security was supposed to be held In escrow, what happened? THEY STOLE THE MONEY AND USED IT FOR THEIR THINGS THEY THOUGHT WAS MORE BENEIFICIAL. So, let me get this straight- they take money out of the economy from us only to put it back into the economy because they know better how it should be used. Sure, that makes sense. They know better than YOU.

Check out the CVS parking lot when the High School lets out. I've seen "Daddy" picking upRead More little "Johnny" in a Town owned car. We know it was tax money paying for the gas, just hope it was lunch time. I thought the Town was cracking down on inappropriate use of vehicles. I hope not many have use of a car on Sunday, and sure hope they were on Town duty. Yes, Angela, sadly you are right, nothing will change, but there is always a chance maybe someone will listen.

CORRUPTION- IS MORE LIKE IT. GRAFT, UNLESS YOU CHANGE YOUR VOTING HABITS - AS ENSTEIN SAID- DOINGRead More THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AND EXPECTING A DIFFERENT RESULT IS INSANITY. THAT IS THE VOTING HERE IN HAMDEN- INSANE THAT PEOPLE CONTINUE TO VOTE DEMOCRATIC AND EXPECT THINGS TO CHANGE. If you notice all cities with the democratic party in charge in the U.S. has the same problems. Start with New Haven, Hamden, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, New Orleans, they all have the same problems. Welfare, union legacy costs, taxation, North Haven seems to be run better, must check that out. Don't know if that is a democrat or not.
