When officers arrived, they found the 40-year-old female co-owenr of the shop lying on the floor of the cash room, Smith said. Hamden Fire Rescue also responded and treated the woman, who was then taken to Yale-New Haven Hsopital with an elbow injury, Smith said.

The victim told police that she heard a knock on the back door of the shop and when she opened it, two people came in and pushed her, Smith said. The two men had their faces covered so she couldn't see them, she told police, and she was able to activate the shop's panic button.
