Sting Nets Dozens At Whitney Bar & Grille

Twelve of the underage drinkers were charged with misrepresentation, the rest with trespass.

Dozens of underage people were cited last week during a sting police conducted at the Whitney Bar and Grille, 3352 Whitney Ave.

"Officers found 83 underage individuals inside of the establishment" during the April 25 sting, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.

"Officers issued 71 infractions for Simple Trespass," he said. In addition, 12 underage individuals were arrested for Misrepresentation of Age and Simple Trespass. They were all released on a Written Promise to Appear. Their court date is scheduled for May 11," he said.

The bar is located on Whitney Avenue in the vicinity of Quinnipiac University but it wasn't clear if any of those cited were students. The school is now wrapping up its spring semester.

The New Haven Register said that the 12 arrested arrested are from out-of-state, including New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island and Massachusetts, which is from where many Quinnipiac students hail.

Information regarding this incident has been forwarded to the State of Connecticut Liquor Commission, Smith said, which would be responsible for taking any action against the bar itself.

The raid , which is designed to call attention to underage drinking in Hamden and promote positive choices.

while receiving Staples Rewards does help defray the cost of supplies for the teachers, they areRead More STILL putting cash out of their own pockets! This should not be. But Kudos to the teachers who put their students above their own financial situation. The Town and parents should be footing the costs, not the teachers.
