Police Blotter -- Monday, Oct. 1

Recent arrests made by the Hamden Police Department.

 

-- Shykwon Sunchild, 30, whose address was not available, was charged Aug. 21 with interfering with police, engaging in pursuit, reckless driving and evading responsibility. He was held in lieu of $10,000 bond and was arraigned Sept. 4 in Meriden Superior Court.

-- Courtney Super, 25, of Cromwell, was charged Sept. 3 with second-degree forgery. She was held in lieu of $1,000 bond and was arraigned Sept. 6 in Meriden Superior Court.

-- Todd Tondale, 40, of 30 Cardinal Dr., Wallingford, was charged Sept. 3 with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny. He was held in lieu of $10,000 bond and was arraigned Sept. 14 in court.

-- Niggeria Whitley, 36, of Middletown, was charged Aug. 22 with two counts of third-degree larceny and two counts of issuing a bad check. Whitley was released on a promise to appear in court on Sept. 3.

-- Tevin Wiggins, 21, of 3 Warner St., Hamden, was charged Aug. 25 with second-degree breach of peace. He was released on a promise to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Sept. 10.

-- Shamar Willett, 22, of 54 Willis St., New Haven, was charged Aug. 27 with second-degree breach of peace and threatening. He was released on a promise to appear in court on Sept. 7.

-- Corey Wright, 20, of 84 Church St., Hamden, was charged Aug. 22 with second-degree breach of peace, failure to appear in court, criminal trespass and resisting arrest. He was held in lieu of $8,000 bond and was due to appear in court Sept. 5.

-- Robert Wright, 23, of 69 Handy Rd., Hamden, was charged Aug. 30 with weapons in a motor vehicle and operating while under suspension. He was held in lieu of $5,000 bond and was arraigned Sept. 13 in Meriden Superior Court.

William Wynn, 40, whose address wasn't available, was charged Aug. 30 with the illugal manufacture, sale or distribution of narcotics and possession of narcotics. He was held in lieu of $10,000 bond and was arraigned Sept. 12 in Meriden Superior Court.

But Kudos to the teachers who put their students above their own financial situation. The Town and parents should be footing the costs, not the teachers.
