Police Called to "Large Hostile Crowd" at Point After

It took police officers from Hamden, North Haven and New Haven to quell the crowd, according to reports.

Police from three departments responded to a local club early Sunday morning for what turned out to be a "large hostile crowd," according to police.

Hamden police got a report of a fight inside The Point After at 1349 Dixwell Ave. at about 1 a.m. Sunday morning, according to Hamden Police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.

"As officers approached, a large group of individuals began fighting," Smith said in a release Monday. "Hamden Police subsequently requested assistance from the New Haven and North Haven Police Departments to help disperse the large hostile crowd. Both departments provided officers, who helped to restore peace."
