North Haven Police: Hamden Man Killed in Single-Car Accident

The 43-year-old drive was killed shortly after midnight Friday when his vehicle struck a tree while traveling along Skiff Street in North Haven.

Police are investigating what caused a Hamden man's car to fatally strike a tree while driving along Skiff Street in North Haven early Friday morning.

According to North Haven Police Lt. Kevin Glenn, at about 12:28 a.m. Friday the North Haven Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call reporting a vehicle was involved in a crash of Skiff Street.

"Upon the arrival of North Haven Police and fire personnel, it was learned that a single vehicle had struck a tree and the operator was deceased," Glenn stated in a press release.

The operator has been identified as 43-year-old Hamden resident Jason Pagni.

The incident is being investigated by members of the South Central Regional Traffic Unit. The unit is made up of officers from North Haven, as well as the East Haven and North Branford police departments.

Glenn added that any witnesses to the incident are being asked to contact Officer Rienzo or Officer Spose at 203-239-5321.
